6th Annual Bee Payne-Stewart Strut & 5k

Saturday, April 28 2012 - 10:00am @ Mediacom Ice Park

HISTORY OF THE EVENT
The Bee Payne-Stewart Strut & 5k is an event held in honor of Bee Payne-Stewart.  Bee was a passionate supporter for women in leadership and sports.  She was the first woman president of the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and a financial supporter for many women’s athletic needs in Springfield.  The Strut is excited to keep Bee’s passion alive through this unique community event.

The 6th Annual Bee Payne-Stewart Strut & 5k is a community wide family fitness and fun event.  This 1.5 mile walk and 5k run through Downtown Springfield is for people of all ages.  Bring your family, friends, and pets for family fun, interaction with local collegiate coaches and student-athletes, networking, snacks and a FREE t-shirt!

The Strut is a 1.5 mile walk where “strutters” have the chance to network and socialize with collegiate coaches and student-athletes from MSU, Drury and Evangel, as well as other community members.  Walkers form teams and compete against each other with fundraising efforts.  Winning teams are rewarded with prizes listed below.  If you don’t have a team to join, join Bee’s Team with Bee’s daughters, Susan and Lora!

The 5k is a piece we have just added this year!  Join us in a 3.1 mile run/walk for your chances to win prizes in different age categories!  You can register as an individual or you can still form your own team or join a team … all fundraising efforts are welcome!
